Great things happen when we Get Together
A vibrant campaign for Cardboard Citizens’ biennial dinner which raised over £180,000 to support the charity’s work with people facing homelessness.
Cardboard Citizens create theatre with, and for, homeless and socially excluded people. These life-changing stories are performed on stage but also in hostels, prisons and on the street. Their creative hub also provides an opportunity for people to develop a sense of community as well as gain skills, confidence and training.
For the main fundraiser of their calendar—held biennially and, in 2017, celebrating their 25th year—we worked with the Development team to create concept artwork based on a “get together”.
Creating space for people who’ve experienced homelessness to express themselves
The visual identity for the event focussed on the informal and untraditional ethos of the organisation but with the right amount of gravitas to reflect their ambassador, and host on the night, Kate Winslet CBE.
Orange and pink were used to light the venue throughout the evening of dining, auction and performances from Cardboard Citizens’ patrons, providing a warm, vibrant and suitably dramatic atmosphere.
Polari worked with understanding and creativity to help us realise the theme for our event and was flexible and supportive at a very busy and stressful time in the lead up to the big day. We were delighted with the effort and attention to detail.
